The Hong Kong Stock Exchange has launched a formal consultation to seek public feedback on its proposal to introduce a new listing regime for companies from emerging and innovative sectors. In the consultation paper, the Exchange proposes the introduction of new chapters to the Main Board Listing Rules in relation to the listing of:

• Biotech companies that do not meet any of the financial eligibility tests of the Main Board
• High growth and innovative companies with weighted voting right (WVR) structures
• Qualifying Issuers seeking a secondary listing on the Exchange

In this seminar, the speaker will introduce the proposed changes to the Listing Rules and share his views on how the proposed new regime will impact on the Hong Kong capital market. Other recent regulatory guidance related to listed companies and IPO applications will also be discussed.

Speaker’s Bio

Roy Leung is a partner with the capital markets advisory group of KPMG.

Roy has extensive experience in providing assurance and advisory services to clients in the process of their IPOs. He is also the lead audit engagement partner for a number of key listed company clients. Roy has served clients from a variety of sectors including consumer goods, real estate, logistics and transportation. He serves as a member of Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Asia and Africa Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
