Speaker’s Bio
 
Simon Cheng:
 
Simon is a partner in Accounting Advisory Group providing advice to large corporations, banks, and private equity investors on capital markets and corporate finance transactions. Simon has over 21 years of experience working with financial accounting and reporting issues associated with complex transactions, including adoption of new accounting standards, consolidation, mergers and acquisitions, financial instruments, derivatives and hedging, stock compensation, securitisations, leasing and valuations. 
 
Simon was previously based in New York city for 8 years. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2005 and has since focused on servicing the Asia-Pacific region. He is a key partner in the Hong Kong/South China accounting advisory practice and focuses on IFRS/US GAAP. 
 
Simon has spent significant time working on various share incentive plan design and implementation for pre-IPO, HK listed and US-listed companies. He has a wide client base in a variety of industries such as financial services, property and hospitality, and e-commerce conglomerate. 
 
Simon is a Certified Public Accountant in the United States and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
 
 
Sammie Leung:
 
Sammie Leung leads sustainability services in PwC China South. She has nearly 20 years of experience in risk advisory profession, focusing on sustainability and climate change, governance and risk management. Sammie was trained with GRI and TCFD knowledge and has led over 50 sustainability advisory projects for clients of various sizes and industries. She also assisted investment funds in developing and enhancing their sustainability investment programmes and provided advice to integrate ESG into the investment process. Sammie provides regular training to fund houses regarding ESG assessment knowledge.
 
 
Fiona Chu:
 
Fiona is a senior manager in the Accounting and Advisory Services Group at PwC Hong Kong. She brings over 13 years of diverse accounting, audit and financial services experience that span Silicon Valley start-ups to multinational corporations listed in HK, UK and US. Fiona has held global and Asia-Pacific finance roles in areas of reporting and controllership, business partnering, financial planning and analysis, working capital management, process reengineering, financial modeling, and project management. 
 
Fiona started her career working in financial accounting and assurance in Hong Kong, China and the United States where she performed external audits under IFRS and US GAAP for clients in various industries including technology, pharmaceutical, aviation, logistics and property development industries. 
Fiona has experience working on share incentive plan design for HK listed companies. 
 
Fiona holds an MBA from the Walter A. Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley and is a Certified Public Accountant registered under the HKICPA.
